Description
A 150g carton of butter biscuits filled with mincemeat and topped with a pecan, baked by Cartwright & Butler, the Arnett family's bakery at Gilberdyke in the East Riding of Yorkshire.
The baker says it has taken everything it loves about a traditional mince pie and wrapped it in a rich, buttery biscuit. The filling is 33% of the recipe: a port, brandy and browned butter flavoured mincemeat of raisins, sultanas, currants and candied peel with mixed spice. Each biscuit is baked for a crisp, golden outside and a soft centre, and crowned with a whole pecan. Pecans are 10% of the recipe.
Serve them as you would mince pies: with a pot of tea in the afternoon, or with something spiced. The gold carton slips easily into a Christmas hamper or a stocking.
